On May 10, 2007, SBwestside.com was temporarily damaged by web hackers. We plan to have it rebuilt sometime before the end of summer. Please check back and thanks for stopping by.

An Interactive Community Website for the Westside Neighborhood of Santa Barbara

About Our Neighborhood

The Westside is Santa Barbara's oldest stabilized residential area; six out of ten houses here were built prior to 1940. Technically the Westside is bounded by the streets west of State Street, north of Carrillo, south of Mission, and east of Hillside, but there are varied interpretations of our boundaries. The neighborhood includes houses large and small--including many 1920s-era cottages--as well as apartments and condominiums. It's an old-fashioned place with lots of beautiful trees, a comfortable mix of architectural styles, many beautiful gardens, a wonderful old school (Harding Elementary), and a small business district which is home to several popular eateries that are famous throughout the city. The beautifully renovated Micheltorena Street Bridge is the gateway to our neighborhood. Come on over!

This site includes open discussion forums, plus a news and classifieds area, with more to come.
